The factory coating breaks down under UV into a fine powdery residue on the surface. Run a dry hand along your fascia and look at your palm — if it comes away white or dusty, that is what is happening, and it is why the band reads dull and uneven from the street even when the trim below it has just been done.

It is a large, continuous, highly visible surface.

It runs the entire perimeter of the roofline at the top of every elevation, which is exactly where the eye goes. There is nowhere for it to hide.
